This workshop will identify and analyse the scope of China’s current efforts to modernise its armed forces. The key areas of discussion will include:
- Direction of China’s increasing military capabilities,
- Challenges that China will confront in the near and long-term future, and
- Military implications of China’s current military modernisation to the defence and security of its immediate neighbours, particularly India.

The discussions will be moderated by Manoj Joshi, Distinguished Fellow and Head of National Security Programme, ORF.
The timing of the workshop is from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. It will be held at the Conference Hall, ORF New Delhi.
